This week the JavaScript ecosystem was shaken by a massive open source package manager hack. A maintainer of some of the most downloaded packages, with billions of weekly installs, clicked on a phishing email that gave attackers full control. They quickly pushed new versions that secretly hijacked Bitcoin transactions on users’ machines and redirected the funds straight into their own wallets.

After years of tension, the U.S. and China finally reached a “framework” agreement on TikTok’s ownership structure. Negotiators met in Madrid for two days and struck a deal. Details aren’t public yet, but announcements are expected soon.
