Our digital partner YıkaGel offers door to door laundry service in İstanbul.
YıkaGel is a startup that offers door to door laundry service, based in İstanbul. They pick up a bag of laundry from home, wash, dry, and optionally iron with home-type machines and deliver back the laundry to the customer’s door within 12 hours.
We worked with YıkaGel for branding, UX research & strategy, wireframing & prototyping, UX design, UI design, digital retail experience design, e-commerce, 7işlem. They also use our end-to-end management software 7işlem for managing their operational and financial workflows.
YıkaGel wanted to offer home-type cleaning service for clothes and shoes with affordable prices and delivery within 12 hours.
Door to door laundry is a relatively new service in İstanbul due to the habits and culture of locals. The first challenge for YıkaGel was building a brand strategy and design to be desirable, relatable and acceptable as a new concept. Their brand tone should sound trustworthy, lovely, cozy, clean, cute and friendly at the same time. But, the brand and their service shouldn’t be perceived as luxury because of the pricing and market strategy they prefer.
Since they take orders via their e-commerce website but operate physically, the other challenge was creating a seamless omnichannel customer experience from ordering online to last mile delivery. Designing and developing a smooth experience on the website with solid technological infrastructure was one leg of that mission.
The other challenge was keeping user experience smooth technically for on-demand delivery time. YıkaGel needed a personalized last mile delivery operation to assign orders to the right time and locations to be able to guarantee delivery within 12 hours.
The solution required a holistic perspective that connects brand identity, high-quality service and a user-friendly website in order to provide an integrated multichannel consumer experience.
After our discovery workshop, we decided on the scope of service as the İstanbul Asian Side at the beginning. However, it was not enough to reach a flawless user experience. We needed to build an algorithm to organize on-demand delivery time for both picking laundry from the customer’s door and delivering it to their door.
With 7işlem’s delivery management module, it is possible to list products such as to wash, to dry, to iron, to pack, to deliver etc. With 7işlem’s advanced reporting screen, orders are easy to manage.
We built a seamless customer experience for YıkaGel from ordering online to last mile delivery with 7işlem. We began by developing a digital-first brand strategy. To deliver a consistent and long-lasting experience, guidelines and a design library were designed. Their website was created to be simple and welcoming especially on onboarding.
We also built an algorithm for Yıka Gel which allows only a limited number of customers to choose the same time slot for both picking up and delivering. To keep experience in flow, the algorithm suggests the nearest available time to customers. In addition to that, there should be a minimum 12 hours between picking and delivering and it won’t include out of work hours.
It took us 2 months to make Yıka Gel ready to take off digitally. We will keep working with them as a digital partner, observe their working process very closely and evolve their digital experience as they grow.
