Applied Electrodynamics: Seeing the Invisible

Applied Electrodynamics introduced its first product, WaveSight, with the goal of making information carried by radio waves, infrared, and X-rays (parts of the electromagnetic spectrum invisible to the human eye) perceptible to people. Founded by Bilgehan Avser in Silicon Valley with a superstar team, the startup has drawn serious attention from its name to its demo video.
Their first product, WaveSight, uses radio frequencies to “see” the structure behind opaque surfaces (walls, boxes, panels, etc.).
Bending Spoons Acquires Airtable

Bending Spoons, known for buying fading startups, cutting headcount, and maximizing profit, acquired Airtable almost immediately after going public in July. Airtable, founded in 2013, had raised close to $1.4 billion and was a SaaS (software-as-a-service) product for building supercharged spreadsheets.
After peaking at an $11 billion valuation in 2021 before steadily weakening, the company currently has 20% active growth and $480 million in ARR, yet it sold for just ~3x its annual revenue, $1.28 billion. That’s barely enough for investors to get their money back without a profit.
In an era where AI is eating SaaS and valuations are in freefall, this acquisition stands as a significant case study.
87-Year-Old Math Conjecture Disproved by Fable
Levent Alpöge, a researcher at Anthropic, used Fable to prove that the Jacobian conjecture (which mathematicians had been trying to prove true for 87 years) is actually false. We highly recommend watching the video by patikli mikrofon, a tech content creator we love, who explains the topic brilliantly.
